Description

Catalog description
Novelty 2025: From 1989 onwards, the political changes opened up new opportunities for the DR to increase the maximum speeds on selected routes to 140 or 160 km/h. In the search for suitable locomotives, attention turned to the class 243, which was designed as an express train locomotive with a top speed of 140 km/h. In autumn 1990, LEW delivered four advance locomotives with modified gear ratios to the DR. All four locomotives were used for testing and as design studies, and differed visually from one another. As the first joint locomotive of the DB and DR, all engines shared the same paint scheme in the then current DB orient red colour scheme with a bib. On the 212 002-0, the locomotive body, including the roof slopes, was painted in orient red. After their takeover by the DR, the engines were initially assigned to the Halle P depot. Over the years, the locomotive was redesignated 112 002-1 and later 114 002-9 and underwent various modifications until it was finally taken out of service in 2025. Digitally controllable cab lighting | Square high-performance buffers | Detailed roof garden with fine metal single-arm pantographs | Unobstructed view into the cab | Sun blinds and other accessories for display in a showcase are included with the model | With TT close coupling
